World of Warcraft Horde Emblem Colorwork Chart

UPDATE 2/16/23: This is turning into a recipe blog post and you have to read an entire dissertation at the top before you get to what you want! I'm so sorry! Or am I...

I've added another smaller version of the knitting/duplicate stitch/tapestry crochet version of the chart that isn't reversed (I still don't know why I made a reversed version), and I've also added a new version of the chart with squares instead of rectangles, which will work for c2c and cross stitch, which I'll put up here at the top out of the kindness of my heart! I'm going to make the Alliance emblem, and if you're not already, follow me on Facebook to get updated when I do this.

Also, shoutout to the Stitchboard Pattern Wizard. It's worth every penny of the premium membership. It isn't perfect and I always have to do edits to my charts, but it definitely provides a very nice starting point, saves a ton of time, and I strongly recommend it if you're looking to make your own colorwork grids.

UPDATE 1/23/23: I have another version of this chart that I never shared! It is smaller! I used it for duplicate stitch on a solid black hat, I think. I feel like I may even have a third (smaller) version floating around somewhere. My computer file organization leaves something to be desired. I'm quite organized in real life, if I do say so myself, but my computer...

I don't know what I used to make this chart, but it doesn't have numbers. Is it also reversed? Which was does the Horde symbol go?!?! It is absolutely reversed. I wonder why I did that? I will fix it. I'll put it on The List. Expect another update!

Not reversed!

Reversed for some reason!

Right-click and save then you can, uh, mirror image it. The more I look at it, the more I wonder why I reversed it. I definitely made a duplicate stitch Horde hat, but which chart did I use? A mystery!

Anyway! If you're interested in checking out my current physical item inventory or seeing if my commissions are open, then Etsy is the place to do that. Patterns are on Ravelry! Monthly subscriptions available on Ko-Fi!

Blood and honor, y'all.

I've only ever used it for crochet, but it'll work for knitting. The hat pictured was made using sl and the patch is normal sc. If you use this for a crochet hat and want to sc you will need to play with your gauge/hook size because it is a little tall. This is as small as I could make it without losing detail and the reason the grid isn't squares is because it helped make the pointier bits look pointier and less chunky...if you get what I'm saying.

Feel free to use this chart however you like, but I would appreciate a link back to this article, the WRC Etsy or Tumblr. Enjoy!
